JOERGER ENTERPRISES, INC. MODEL S1-1 is a Quad Scaler packaged in a single width CAMAC module. This unit, in addition to offering the user four individual 24 bit, 200MHZ scalers also provides a useful interrupt structure. The individual overflow flip-flops are "Ored" and will generate an interrupt signal on the "L" line if the module is enabled. The overflow flip-flops themselves may be conveniently read out on the dataway by a separate Read command. This allows the data word to be a full 24 bits and not 23 bits plus an overflow bit which is usually the case when overflow must be read. This overflow structure is very useful in scaler systems. It will allow the user to monitor all channels via their "L" lines for a scaler overflow and allow the system to respond quickly if required. In addition, all four overflow flip-flops may be read out using only one Read command. The four channels are independent and can be gated individually using the four TTL inhibit inputs provided. These inputs are internally biased high which is the open condition, to inhibit a channel this input is brought low.

SPECIFICATIONS: (for each channel)

SIGNAL INPUTS:
PULSE REPETITION RATE 0-200MPPS minimum
SENSITIVITY -500mv
INPUT IMPEDANCE 50ohms, ± 10% dc coupled
PULSE WIDTH 3nsec. minimum
PROTECTION ± 50v transients
INHIBIT INPUTS: Each channel is individually gated via four front panel connectors. They are TTL compatible and internally biased in the open condition, +2 volts minimum, a signal of .8 volts or less will inhibit a channel
CARRY OUTPUTS: Provided internally for each channel, -1v into 50ohms
GATE SELECT: A locking toggle switch allows the gates to be controlled by the front panel inhibit signals or by this signal "Ored" with the dataway inhibit ( I )

1

Reads LAM requests on R1-4
2x

1

Same as F0 and in addition resets channel to zero at S2

Tests LAM (overflow) requests and if enabled generates a response on the Q line
9x Resets counter channel at S2
10x Resets overflow flip-flop at S2
2414 Disables LAM requests
250-3 Increments each channel by one at S2 (independent of inhibit gates)
2614 Enables LAM requests
C(S2) Resets all channels if gate select switch is in appropriate position
Z(S2) Resets all channels, overflow flop-flop, disables LAM requests
I Inhibits all channels if gate select switch is in appropriate position
Q A Q=1 is generated in response to F0, F1, F2, and F8 if an overflow has occurred and the unit is enabled
X X=1 is generated for all valid commands
L An "L" signal is generated whenever an overflow has occurred and the module is enabled, but not addressed
