The JOERGER ENTERPRISES, INC. MODEL DAC816 is a high performance 8 channel, 16 bit digital to analog converter. The latest in 16 bit DAC's and current output drivers have been incorporated to provide 16 bit resolution and 14 bit accuracy for both voltage or current outputs. To further increase its versatility the module has been designed as a dual four channel device. In this way both current and voltage outputs can be supplied in a single module. Each four channels can be specified separately. The outputs provided can be verified with read command F3 on read lines R1-4. Data coding is unipolar for the zero to 10 volt output and both current outputs with two's complement used for the ± 10 volt output. The loaded data can be reread for verification. Individual converters insure accurate high speed performance. A tracking regulator is used to generate the analog power, and gain and offset pots allow the trimming of each channel at test to enhance operation. To improve system performance a programmable control output is provided An update signal is also provided to indicate the modules contents have been changed. A status input signal is available and is monitored by F27. The module has been designed as a versatile, high performance converter that is completely programmable and system oriented, while providing both current or voltage outputs at a reasonable price.
